On May 5th the Russian Embassy released a picture of Russian Ambassador to DPRK, Alexander Matsegora and DPRK's Foreign Minister Ri Son-Gwon standing on front of North Korean soldiers, both wearing protective face masks (despite there being no reported cases of coronavirus in North Korea) attending a ceremony at the Mansudae Palace Of Congress in Pyongyang which awarded North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un with a medal for his major contribution in commemorating Soviet soldiers who died in 1945 during Korea's liberation within his territory. Vladimir Putin awarded this medal to Kim Jong-un on May 4th as it was the 75th anniversary of their victory over Nazi Germany; however, initially, Kim was invited to a military parade that was to be conducted in Russia on May 9th for the anniversary which Putin decided to postpone it indefinitely due to the pandemic. He had also tried to celebrate the event's 70th anniversary in 2015 by inviting Kim to Russia which he had to decline because of "domestic affairs"
