A neurophysiological condition that impacts less than 200 people globally, AIWS is one of the rarest mental health disorders out there. It was named after the “Alice In Wonderland” episodes, which resemble the anecdotes caused due to this condition.

This disorder can cause humans to experience temporary disorientation with respect to their surroundings and the size of their bodies. It also affects senses like vision, touch, and hearing. Some symptoms of this condition include migraines, loss of body coordination and perceptual, time, and size distortion.

The cause of this condition could be multiple factors such as infections, stress, brain tumors, strokes, and genetics.

AIWS can be identified with the help of MRI scans, EEGs, and blood tests.

As of today, there exists no cure for this condition, however, most patients can be made comfortable with their experiences and can be assisted with relaxing the underlying causes of their disorder.
